Engage a consultant for help with specific issues. WarmLines/MSPP has experts available to assist early childhood programs and other organizations seeking professional guidance. Our consultants work with program directors, teachers, parent boards and others to develop practical recommendations regarding educational and staffing goals and other challenges. Consultants are also available for classroom observations related to children’s mental health and behavioral issues.

The Beginnings of Bullying*

Within the ups and downs of young children's social behavior, it is often difficult to distinguish playful teasing and normal peer conflict from the beginnings of harmful bullying. Adults must learn how to set limits on inappropriate or hurtful behaviors while supporting the development of healthy friendships and positive conflict resolution. Due to the increasingly large role played by technology in the social lives of older children - through cell phones, text messages and social networking sites – adults must also learn how to establish crucial guidelines for young children that will help prevent “cyberbullying” later in childhood and adolescence.
